Theology Graduates
Having already spent a number of years engaged in theology, often within a residential setting at university, many theology graduates often look for a course that combines the opportunity to do further theological work at a higher level with real life practical experience of ministry.
The St Mellitus ‘Church-based King’s MA’ course offers just this combination. It offers real excellence in teaching and a prestigious award from a top-ranking university, along with a strong component of practical experience of ministry, along with the chance to reflect on that experience in the light of gained and growing theological understanding. Students on this course are engaged in what is really ‘full-time non-residential training’. They will normally have a significant ‘primary placement’, which will involve around two days a week or more being rooted in a local church, church plant or fresh expression of church. This placement is sometimes suggested by the student, or the College can help with finding such a placement.
MA students take classes at King’s, come into SPTC for the more practically-oriented Monday afternoon programmes, and attend all residentials.
Theology Graduates studying at NTMTC can also apply to take the King’s MA course as part of their ordination training.
